NUTN Innovation Incubation Center Hosts French Floral Art Workshop

2024-06-17
On the afternoon of June 14th, the Research and Development Office's Innovation Incubation Center at our university organized a "Introduction to French Flower Basket Arrangement" certification course. The event featured a special invitation to the professional floral studio "Nana’s Corner of Time," which shared years of floral art experience and various techniques.

During the workshop, instructors imparted foundational knowledge and skills in floral art, covering topics from selecting and handling fresh flowers to arranging techniques such as triangular compositions and height differentials. A key emphasis was placed on ensuring that the flower basket arrangement fully covered the basket with flowers, obscuring the sponge beneath, to achieve a standard French floral arrangement. Each step involved creative thinking and challenges. Under the expert guidance of the instructors, each participant was able to create unique and professionally executed floral artworks.

Beyond the technical aspects of floral art, the course also focused on personal expression through creativity. One participant, Zhang, noted that focusing on the hands-on creation process felt like a rejuvenating journey for the mind. Learning floral art not only enhanced participants' aesthetic abilities and craftsmanship but also served as a means to relieve stress and express personal creativity.

Director Lin Pei-Chi of the Innovation Incubation Center emphasized that in addition to professional skills, the university values students' self-expression and diverse development in various fields. Through diverse courses like this, students can explore their interests and talents, continually exploring potential career paths for their future development.

Such platforms for learning and creation enable students to find tranquility and fulfillment through floral art, learning relevant skills along the way. It is hoped that through such activities, students can discover their inner passions and continue to develop these skills in their future lives and careers. The university plans to continue supporting and promoting such diverse courses, providing students with more opportunities for learning and growth.
