Civic Education Activities and Training
NUTN's general education curriculum centers on globalization and civic literacy, beginning with campus public concerns and environmental sustainability and extending to local communities and culture. Courses cover human rights, democracy, law, and media literacy and use deliberative discussion, group collaboration, and action projects to help students connect personal experience with public issues and develop critical thinking, civic participation, and social-practice capabilities.

Starting from students' lived experiences and real-world problems, the program develops issue awareness, civic engagement, and the capacity to act.
Connecting Social Practice
Personal concerns are transformed into policy feedback and concrete action, fostering reciprocal relationships between students and local communities.

Perspectives related to ethnicity, age, gender, region, and socioeconomic background cultivate intercultural communication and social inclusion.
Practicing Democracy and Justice
Students examine disadvantaged circumstances and structural inequality at the institutional level, considering both procedural and substantive justice.

Diverse Service-learning Programs
To cultivate diligence, service, and collaboration, NUTN offers service-learning activities and courses both on and off campus, encouraging students to apply professional knowledge in communities. The general education course Singing Therapy places service learning at its core, with students accompanying older adults at community care centers through singing, movement, and instrumental activities while developing Taiwanese-language communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills.

Career Guidance and Graduate Tracking
NUTN provides career guidance through both in-person and online channels, including career exploration, résumé reviews, mock interviews, and employment consultation. CPAS and UCAN assessments help students identify personal strengths and career directions. Economically disadvantaged students may also receive subsidies for courses, certifications, consultations, and recruitment activities to strengthen general and professional competencies.

Industry Internships and Career Development
Through innovation incubation, industry internships, and employment matching, NUTN helps students build workplace experience. The Innovation Incubation Center organizes entrepreneurship competitions, information sessions, and workshops, supports applications to the U-start Program, and assists students in establishing companies. The Alumni Service Center works with the Ministry of Labor and career-development organizations to provide corporate briefings, career lectures, and employment guidance for international students seeking to remain in Taiwan.
