National University of Tainan (NUTN) continues to strengthen administrative capacity while promoting a professional, healthy, and sustainable workplace. On August 6, 2026, the University held its annual Administrative Staff Training Program, featuring sessions on strategic performance management and AI-powered workplace efficiency. On August 12, NUTN organized an environmental education program for faculty and staff, combining ecological learning, nature exploration, and team interaction. Together, these initiatives reflect NUTN's commitment to professional development, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and employee well-being.
The Administrative Staff Training Program opened with remarks from NUTN President Hui-Ping Chen, who expressed appreciation for the continued dedication of administrative staff to university development. She encouraged colleagues to embrace professionalism, innovation, and teamwork while continuously enhancing administrative services in response to the rapidly changing higher education landscape.
The program began with a session led by the University's Secretary-General, who shared key priorities for university development and administrative operations. Through two-way communication and discussion, participants strengthened their understanding of institutional goals and explored opportunities for cross-unit collaboration.
The morning session, "Strategic Performance Management," was delivered by Professor Ming-Chu Yu, a retired faculty member of NUTN's Department of Public Administration and Management. Drawing on strategic thinking, performance management, and administrative practice, the session helped staff translate university development goals into concrete administrative actions.
In the afternoon, Associate Professor Yu-Jen Lien of Chung Yuan Christian University's Department of Applied Chinese Language and Culture introduced "AI-Powered Workplace Efficiency in Higher Education." The session demonstrated practical applications of generative AI in information organization, content creation, presentation development, information integration, and workflow optimization. By incorporating AI into daily administrative tasks, staff can improve efficiency while creating more time for innovation and higher-value services.
Alongside professional development, NUTN also places strong emphasis on staff well-being and environmental awareness. On August 12, faculty and staff visited Nanyuan Leisure Farm in Liuying District, Tainan, for an environmental education program. Guided by ecological experts, participants explored the area's forests, lakes, and diverse plant and animal life, gaining a deeper understanding of biodiversity, ecological conservation, and environmental sustainability.
The program also included time for independent exploration, allowing participants to slow down and reconnect with nature along forest trails and beside the lake. Informal interaction and shared experiences provided opportunities for colleagues to strengthen relationships, relax, and build a stronger sense of teamwork.
From strategic performance management and AI-enabled administration to environmental education and nature-based learning, NUTN's initiatives address the diverse capabilities and needs of today's university workforce. President Hui-Ping Chen emphasized that administrative staff are a vital force behind university development. In addition to strengthening professional capabilities and administrative efficiency, she noted the importance of creating a supportive working environment that promotes physical and mental well-being.
